Delaware Tech Students Launch a Rocket into Space
As part of the Delaware Space Grant Consortium, Delaware Tech participated in NASA's RockOn! Workshop at the Wallops Flight Facility in Wallops Island, Virginia. This annual event invites college students and faculty to assemble a rocket from a kit and launch it into space.

Delaware Tech’s Annual Hometown Heroes 5K Raises Funds for Student Scholarships
More than 300 runners and walkers joined Delaware Technical Community College employees, students, and volunteers on Sept. 18 for the annual Hometown Heroes 5k Run/1 Mile Walk hosted by the College’s Stanton and Wilmington campuses. This year’s race raised nearly $20,000 for student scholarships.

Delaware Tech’s Run, White, & Blue Attracts Almost 700 Participants and Remembers Fallen Firefighter, Thomas Berry III
The 11th annual Run, White, & Blue 5k Run/1-Mi Walk drew 695 runners and walkers on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024, at Delaware Technical Community College’s Owens Campus in Georgetown and raised over $26,000, which will support scholarships for veterans and first responders.

Central Delaware Economic Summit Explores State’s Recreational Marijuana Industry
Attendees of the 2024 Central Delaware Economic Summit, hosted by the Delaware Tech Terry Campus in Dover on September 17, learned about Delaware's recreational marijuana industry and its impact on local business.

Delaware Technical Community College is proud of the 21 student-athletes who earned National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-Academic honors for their academic achievements during the 2023-24 season, as well as the College softball team, which received NJCAA Academic Team of the Year honors.

Delaware Technical Community College is one of 18 new colleges to join the Metallica Scholars Initiative (MSI), created by All Within My Hands (AWMH), a non-profit, philanthropic organization created by the members and management of the famous rock & roll band, Metallica.

The Delaware Tech softball team headed into the spring 2024 season as the three-time defending region champion, traveling to Mercer County Community College on May 3 – 4 to defend their title as the No. 2 seed. And that is exactly what they did.

Yearick Named Region 19 Men’s Lacrosse Coach of the Year
Dan Yearick, in his first year as head coach of the Delaware Tech men’s lacrosse team, was named 2024 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 19 Coach of the Year after guiding his squad to an undefeated season in league play. The team won the region championship, advanced to the semifinals of the North Atlantic District Tournament, and placed five players on the All-Region Team, including defensive player of the year.

Delaware Tech won the 2024 National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 19 men’s lacrosse championship with a 13-12 victory over Sussex County Community College (New Jersey) on April 24 at the DE Turf Sports Complex.

Law Enforcement Option Program Holds Graduation Ceremony
Delaware Technical Community College’s criminal justice - law enforcement option (LEO) program held a graduation ceremony at the Terry Campus in Dover to celebrate students who completed the program’s 13-credit law enforcement practicum.
